            Description

            "cgc" on IRC ("Charlie" on cdh-user) reported an issue where block reports were taking many minutes to process after upgrading from CDH3b2 to CDH3b3. After looking at jstacks of the NN, a processor thread was seen stuck in a reverse DNS lookup inside the IPC layer.

            This is unnecessary in an unsecured environment as noted in the referenced JIRA. We should backport to avoid this problem.
