Description
The init scripts all have this:
- Default-Start: 3 5
- Default-Stop: 0 1 2 4 6
On Debian and Ubuntu (unlike redhat), the normal runlevel is 2 (redhat it's 3) and thus hadoop does not run by default (and using update-rc.d (for example using puppet) fails to set the service to start on boot).
This is unexpected behaviour and is a bit more hassle for people automating deployment.
Thanks,
Adrian
