      Description

Since /var/run is a tmpfs in Ubuntu, /var/run/hadoop-0.20/ is automatically deleted when a system reboots. As a consequence he hadoop pid directory does not exist when a system is rebooted. Upon package installation the pid directory is created as a symlink to /var/run/hadoop-0.20/. After a system reboot the directory in /var/run is gone.

One workaround is to create /var/run/hadoop-0.20/ in the hadoop-0.20-* init scripts. The ownership of /var/run/hadoop-0.20/ should also be updated.
