            Description

            hbase(main):001:0> truncate_preserve 'DATA_ItemDesc'
            Truncating 'DATA_ItemDesc' table (it may take a while):

            ERROR: undefined method `getTable' for nil:NilClass

            Here is some help for this command:
            Disables, drops and recreates the specified table while still maintaing the previous region boundaries.
