data-shell hangs

            Description

            I just updated the data-shell in the kite branch, including a couple of bug fixes (couldn't find data-shell-inc.scala, /bin/sh doesn't necessarily implement type -p). The script execute the scala command, but the command silently hangs without entering the shell:
