Remove shim layer mechanism

            Description

            The Shim layer for Sqoop allows it to work with different versions of Hadoop that may not be API compatible. However, this mechanism also introduces unnecessary complexity and maintenance problems. As indicated by lack of response on the User and Developer mailing lists, this functionality is not being used by anyone at this stage.

            In order to simply the Sqoop implementation, the shim layer functionality needs to be removed.
